Average face (before steroids), average height, and a quite/shy personality. 99% of gymcels are quite timid, usually shy social outcasts that weren’t very popular in school, so when they see Sam Sulek, who genetically and personality wise is similar to them but with 80 lbs more muscle, they instinctively look up to him like an older brother they wish they had.

A straight up chad with height/face/frame/personality will feel utterly unreliable and unapproachable to this sphere, it’s like looking up to someone from your social circle who’s had some financial success and now drives a bmw, compared to a old money billionaire that likely OWNS bmw, no way for you to relate.
