Women are pure narcissists and expect everyone to cater to them, then they give birth and their body floods them with emotions to be self-sacrificial to the child. A total conflict of experience and emotions. Sometimes they must look at that crying blob and think 'why must i give you attention, why don't YOU give attention to MEEEE?'

They'll try to use the baby as a prop to get surrogate public attention to bridge that gap. That's what these women are doing. Lindsay has given them a way to vent, a way to get some attention for themselves before they strangle that child who's demanding all the attention.
