sarecycline is a selective antibiotic that ONLY targets acne bacteria and leaves healthy bacteria alone, unlike Accutane it has minimal sides and does not cross the blood brain barrier. it was recently approved by FDA in 2019.

benzoyl peroxide is used for mild-moderate acne whereas seracycline is approved for moderate to severe it quite literally kills the bacteria that causes acne, topical treatments are inconvenient.
