There has been a lot of online discussion about the use of Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMs). These compounds are particularly popular among skinny young adults and teens, who often view them as a "safe" shortcut to getting jacked. While it’s arguably more health-conscious to take 25mg of RAD-140 daily than 50+mg of Dianabol as an amateur lifter, does that make SARMs safe? My answer: No.
For most people, SARMs might be harmless in moderation. Still, I strongly advise everyone to get bloodwork done before and after a cycle. I lifted naturally for five years before trying my first cycle. My pre-cycle bloodwork showed no red flags, and I had no personal or family history of arrhythmias. Yet, I now suffer from an acute myocarditis, which was likely triggered by my use of Ligandrol (LGD-4033).
After taking LGD-4033 for a few weeks at 10mg/day, I noticed my resting heart rate climbing from 70-80 BPM to 95-100 BPM. This wasn’t alarming enough to stop—until one evening after work. While cooking, I experienced my first SVT episode: my heart rate skyrocketed from 90 BPM to over 200 BPM. A week later, I saw a doctor, did post-cycle bloodwork, and had an ECG.
I can’t definitively blame LGD-4033 for this, but my experience is a warning to younger readers tempted by "SARM-only cycles." Moving forward, I’m cutting back on caffeine and staying natural.
