He was older so I'm guessing they were his grandkids. He's actually standing here with them now. The way he's interacting with them, they seem to be related.

If I had to take a wild guess, I would guess those are his daughters kids. He looked too old to have small children (I would guess they were 3-5 years old). One was a boy, the other was a girl. The boy might be a mulatto slayer in 15-20 years.
