It's crazy they haven't really followed up on this but if hair that was lost for decades were brought back that way it clearly works. A self tester could just start with less and increase flame exposure until he obtained results. The guy's level of scabbing also would give a clue to the exposure needed. Just be cautious and move up until you reactivate hair growth.
