I’m going to say before I go into my point, there are limits to this, if the scars make you look facially deformed or demented it’s not a halo. But minor scars indicating wounds sustained in combat, women find these men more sexually attractive.
There are surprisingly few good pictures of men with minor scars but there have been a plethora of studies.

Here’s two but there are many more. Women seeking short term partners is biological jargon for what women find sexually attractive. It makes sense from a biological perspective. Women want a strong man who can fight and has fought for himself this can be observed in other mammals as well.
