Scars for appeal

Anyone gen try to scar themselves for a bit of appeal? And if so how’d it turn out? I have this friend who accidentally stabbed his eye when he was a baby and now his eye is partially grey. And no he isn’t blind because he missed his pupil but just stabbed his iris are instead.
