Pessimist philosophers are cry babies and come off as way too anthropocentric. The assumption is that suffering is inherently bad which I reject.
But also it assumes that are lives are special in the sense that it is inherently something.
When we look at the lives of animals and humans we don’t think their lives are inherently good or bad just that their lives are.
To say life is inherently bad is to try to elevate ourselves higher than what we really are. Life is inherently nothing.
