It’s a stupid notion to say white-passing, to be honest. White skin isn’t a of westerners. Calling a non Westerner with light skin white passing makes no sense. By that logic, Africans could claim ownership over dark skin and tell lighter skinned people they’re African passing, which is just as absurd. Many countries have a wide range of skin tones, and this isn’t some uniquely Western thing. Westerners, on average, aren’t even purely white but often more reddish than anything. At least that’s how I see it.

I understand where you’re coming from. White skin isn’t exclusive to westerners, the idea of “white-passing” is a Eurocentric concept to begin with. I have seen many MENA people with white skin, for example. Some people do consider anyone with white skin as white, but other people (and this includes me) only considers certain Europeans as white, such as Nordic and Germanic peoples.
