I was recently watching a FaceIQ video and realized that he posed a good point.
Many people delay gratification & happiness for years toward a goal; when you eventually reach it, for example, financial freedom, you'll eventually reach a baseline
of dopamine, and you'll feel like you felt prior.
Yes, it’s better overall than if you hadn't gone through that, but it's important not to delay all gratification and enjoy the present, and enjoy your life while you're young.
I think it's important to try and think of things that you will find meaning in in the future, like 5+ years out.
Maybe this is water, but it opened my eyes, as someone who thinks this way.
