The average and or/above average individual just exist and the things that you consider "normal" just happen, no genetic anomaly ever had to "ascend" to get a girl, or get a group of friends, or fit into society. He just existed, people gravitated towards him and maybe got into a sport and thought itd be fun, there's no thought out into any of this, this is just the natural flow of life, he didn't need to "ascend".
