Self-reflection isn't something that comes naturally to people and only a tiny number of people are truly able to self-reflect. This is why it's so easy for governments/religions to brainwash normies and why normies can engage in rampant double-think without the slightest degree of self-awareness. They are chronic narcissists who literally cannot view themselves objectively.
