Severe class 2 malocclusion (overbite) Correction

Began treatment at the orthodontist back in October 2022 around the same time those awful before photos were taken, had Forsus Appliance for 11 months which ascended me and now I am getting my braces off soon.

Most people cannot afford facial surgery as it is extremely expensive an insurance typically will tell you to go fuck yourself, if your face isn’t brutally deformed / fucked beyond repair, a good orthodontist may be able to ascend you

Exactly, I think mewing is worth doing especially when your still developing but if you have an actual deformity like an overbite - mewing won’t do shit

One of my orthros recommended me this , but needs permission from my other ortho. Would be lifefuel for me if this works

Should I ask to get it ? , I have braces rn and likely coming off them in summer

Elastics slightly pull the maxilla back, the appliance doesn’t, but mew a lot anyways to combat any pullback on the maxilla

If your bite is completely normal that’s not a bad thing, you may have an underbite though

yeah elastics are ideal for minor overbites. They only pull down the maxilla if used for more than a few months

Use an expander/ braces with elastics or without?

It also pushes the upper jaw backwards, and pulls the lower jaw forwards

doesn’t necessarily push the upper jaw backwards, rather, it fixes maxillary prognathism. And no I am not sure what the exact measurements were but, it was a major overbite

Interesting. Did your teeth get extracted?
Also, what would happen for somebody who has a narrow palate?

Does this widen the palate too, so the teeth fit?
