I have a really bad stutter and wondering if anyone knows of any drugs maybe that would help. Therapy doesn’t work so maybe drugs will

Speech therapy didn't work?
If speech therapy didn't work, why are you asking if theres medication that'll help here instead of asking your speech therapist

Could be a skeletal issue, I have a lisp because I am recessed, my tongue doesn’t fit it my mouth properly :)

in my case it’s more of a nervous stutter but my parents force me to go to it so I have no choice the therapist seem like they just want to keep me there as long as they can so

Then getting more used to talking to other people to get rid of your nervous issue lol
People will say stuff like phenibut or pregab to lower your inhibition and anxiety but those are both addictive

I'm a highschooler who stutters and I'm involved in stuttering research. For me my stuttering is kinda like the snowball effect, when I talk to people and it goes well (for me that means near fluency, goal is the opposite) I feel really rewarded and then that motivates me to talk to more and more people. When I successfully talk to more and more people I become more and more fluent, which repeats.

What I recommend doing:

1. Exposure therapy, talking to more people

2. Trying not to judge yourself for being disfleunt, celebrate the fact that you tried and did it (this can be a really tough one)

3. More care free attitude, fake it until you make it, if you convince yourself you're a low inhib chad you will eventually become one

Regarding drugs:

The following lower inhib but must be taken with caution. Also, the following drugs can't biologically reduce stuttering, just minimize the feelings/mental states that cause stuttering.

Phenibut - When I tried this as a solution for my stuttering, it felt like a solution to my life at first. I wasn't as anxious for any speaking activities at school. It made care-free in general and somewhat euphoric, this eventually stopped because I forgot to order more. The stop was pretty brutal life felt dull for a couple days. My advice: use the lowest dose possible for results.

Alc - I do this when with friends and at parties. Heavily dulls anxiety when drunk, but you can't sustainably function on alc in your daily life. Save this for special occasions that don't need moderate brainpower.

Pregab, Propondral - Haven't tried these yet but they sound great, plan on ordering them off indiamart soon.

Hang in there though, stuttering can literally be one of the most mentally exhausting disorders. DM me if you need anything.
