I have an overbite and short chin, yet a normal length midface. My tfwhr is 1.35 when I vertically jut, so i know it’s not a midface problem. My nose even looks kinda long from the front. However when I smile, an insane amount of fat gets pushed upwards into my face. My upper teeth still show, but my nose becomes insanely wide and my cheeks look puffy. And no it’s not bodyfat %, I’m extremely skinny. I look even worse when biting down because it makes my chin extremely short and my temples and masseters flare into a square-ish shape, but i look really good when vertically jutting. Any recommendations for surgery or other ascensions? I’m on the fence about bimax because everyone says that’s the best way to fix sfs yet I don’t have a vertically deficient maxilla..

And by square-ish I just mean an obtuse jaw frontal angle, not close to 180

i have the same problem - its not sfs

Sending a picture would help but if you haev a deep bite then thats clear SFS

It could be mandible only

What are you planning on getting done? I don’t have much of a problem with permajutting downward bc my TMJ has been fine after 3-4 years, but my main problem is the smile

I have about 50% coverage of bottom teeth while biting down, idk if that classifies as a deep bite, but once again do I get bimax or just BSSO + genio? I’m worried downgrafting or lefort will make me a horseface if my midface is already 65 mm long

you probably dont need a downgraft

if you have an MFR of 1:1 then just go with the trimax
if you have an MFR lower than 1:1 [0.9 or lower] get a bit of CCWR with it

Will this help with the buccal fat and fat nose while smiling? I’m still unsure on what is causing this.

yes definitely bucal fat will change, since the bone is stretching the fat, hence you will look leaner
