Been thinking a lot about how I’ve been acting lately. She told me she noticed I’ve been a bit “distant” and colder since Monday, and that it sometimes feels like I put myself above her. That hit me because I really don’t want her to feel that way.
She also said that while she’s happy for my achievements, trips, and everything I’m doing, she wants to feel like she’s important too. That the moments we share are valuable for both of us, not just for me. The last time I brushed off something she wrote or wanted to share, it clearly hurt her. She felt it was something special and I missed it.
She added that sometimes I don’t notice things, but when she points them out it helps me improve. She wants open communication, that problems are talked about and solved together, and that the last thing anyone wants is bad vibes. She doesn’t compare herself to anyone else, she just wants us to feel like a team, sharing the path, supporting each other. She doesn’t want me to seem arrogant, just like someone by her side on equal footing.
I know I’m the one who needs to step up. I want to be better, communicate better, notice the things that matter, and make sure she feels valued. This is about learning, improving, and fixing the things I can control.
