Short mandible not recessed, how is this possible?

Found an image of this guy showing his side profile. Clearly has a pretty small mandible, similar length to someone with a recessed chin, but his side profile is really strong? Would you agree?

Its pretty short but he is also looking down which makes it look shorter

would need to see his occlusion but, 3 cases where mandible has stunted growth would be deep bite, micrognathia, and sfs. Its also theoreticaly possible to stunt the growth of the mandible via alt means like sleep position (where backward force is placed on mandible). In his case it does not look that short tbh.
