Hi there people!!

We were talking with friends about wheter we should base our career interests on the place where we were born or want to live, or based on the lifestyle we would like to live (for example, becoming a fisherman in a port city where fishing pays well), or instead pursue a career we feel passionate about, even if it doesn’t pay well or forces us to move frequently and makes it hard to settle down.

So should we consider first:
a) adjust our career on we like or love to do
b) adjust our career on the opportunities in a place we want to live
c) adjust our career path on the lifestyle we want to live

what do you guys think?
how it's gone for you?

whatever matters more to you

100% opportunities, fuck doing what you like to do, if it doesn't make a lot of money why do it at all? Not saying you should work somewhere that makes you miserable, but also that's kinda you're fault because how are you becoming miserable from a job 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭

For example a friend of mine, stayied in his hometown, made a fishing business, he earn 1m a year.
He did not study or move. He like the place and lifestyle.
Of course he did not like 100% his job, but he have plenty of free time (and money) to do what he loves.
Same example applies to another friend with a car tire business

But what about you start to study for a career and never find a good place to live, or always change social circles due to relocating, and never have your life in order?

TBH dude, it depends on the person.
FIRST OF ALL your career isn't a constant, you could be a dev and end up flipping burgers, because someone was better or because you actually did think you'd be doing this for the rest of your life, and what was your passion became a thing you dislike, because you just do it all day avery day, again and again, until the hobby feels like a job because of the workload or the prolonged time exposure of said work.
so consider that fact that you are going to change carrier after 10years or even 5 no job is forever. If you are 1MILLION PERCENT SURE you are going to just put all your energy in one think, then just remember it's always better to leave your job after around 3 years because, you can go to a different job with JOB exp from the first job and get paid better, or change your location, country what ever, everything is flexible as long as you plan loosly and think ahead while not depenting on things to go as you plan(that's why I said loosly)

The one which gives you the most net dopamine

Passion is a meme, skill should come first

What if you're skilled at something you're passionate about?
What's the point of that question?
You'd be very lucky if you're skilled at the thing you're passionate about, especially if it makes money

Passion if you want to be happy
Lifestyle if you want to be comfortable
Location if you see opportunities and scale

whatever makes more money
