Yeah they should, and they are in most good looking people
Jaw wider than cheekbones is a freak trait and shows excessively large masseters or extremely hypoplastic midface

Both look good depending on your aura. More pretty boy aura you need wider cheekbones but a more alpha aura you need wider jaw (there are exceptions but I think this generally is the case).
