Should I avoid a testosterone cycle if I care a lot about keeping my hair?

I have diffuse thinning/MPB and started finasteride at 17. I added oral minoxidil at 18. So far, my results have been really good I’m almost 19 now and still have a full head of hair with no significant loss.

I'm considering doing one cycle of 250 mg testosterone, but honestly the main thing stopping me is my hair. I know testosterone and DHT can potentially accelerate androgenetic alopecia, and even though I'm on finasteride, I'm not sure how much protection that actually gives me during a cycle.

I really don't want to sacrifice my hair for one cycle.

For people who already had MPB and were on finasteride/minoxidil before using testosterone:

  • Did you experience increased shedding or permanent hair loss?
  • Did finasteride seem to protect you?
  • If you could go back, would you still do the cycle?
  • Is doing just one cycle even worth the potential risk?

if you do have hairloss just go to turkey to get a hair transplant stop being a pussy and start taking test
