if you want adventure, i’d recommend climbing the tallest mountain in oceania, puncak jaya

don’t take the helicopter to base camp and instead hike there having to avoid papua new guinea separatists along with local cannibal tribes

you would also pass by one the worlds largest gold mines

they say all the snow at the peak will be melted by 2027

base-camp is ok. but sometimes you have to wait up to 3 weeks in a queue to get a permit, which cost $2000/each, to climb to the actual top.
