Should i consider surgery for an ingrown nail?

My toe nail is ingrown and just pierces into my skin and meat of the finger, every time i cut my toe nails its basically like im preforming a surgery myself trying to cut this shit, honestly it isn't really an issue as my toe doesn't hurt when i walk or anything but hurts like hell when i try to shorten it. What the fuck do i do? For privacy reasons i ain't sending pics of my toes
