recently ive got a buzz cut because i had damaged hair, and i wonder should i cut them during the proccess of growing them or just let them grow for like 6 months or maybe longer?

Grow for several months, then eventually get a maintenance cut

I grew my hair for 4 months, then got a trim, then 3 months more growth, then trim, then 3 months more
