I've been wearing this fuckass device for almost 2 years and when I wen't to my local ortho to do a yearly check, she told me to still wear the retainer until the next appointment (which is around 15 april).

I really want to ditch that shit so I can buy a 3-way Schwarz expander to expand my palate/dental arch, but I'm hesitating if I should do it or not.

I don't think they won't let me, they are even thinking to remove my wisdom teeth if they grow out
this is the one i want to buy, i have currently a 35mm palatal width which is death tier
This seems sketchy, as the other guy said, you should go to a private clinic instead, I don't think you'll get the expansion you want with this device.

Not to mention, is it drilled in? I can't tell from the photo but they mention it's removeable, which leads me to believe it is actually just garbage

If you want to expand your palate do it professionally, don’t buy some fuckass device off the internet because your gonna have to rebrace either way

35 mm isn’t extreme but you could defiantly go private and they will happily expand for you, idk where your from but the proscess will be pricy but far more effective than anything on the internet, and your gonna have to pay for a rebrace anyway I’m guessing

it cucks me so hard, my dental arch is bad, i have a 6-teeth smile
reason i want to buy it online is because like you said doing it professionally is very expensive and where i live (Belgium) the insurance will only cover the cost of a orthodontic treatment if you're below the age of 15

if they remove your wisdom teeth try to fuck up the surgery so they have to do surgery to fix your jaw or at least give you a orthodontist approved device

if you use this appliance your gonna have to pay for a rebrace anyway which is more expensive than installing an mse, may aswell just pay the extra bit for the mse and have far better results

Do you only need a rebrace if you create a gap on your front teeth?
and if you only activate the screw a few times per day you won't get a gap, since it's a slow palatal expander

I wouldn't recommend doing the expander at all, but if you do get one done professionally then yea you can ditch it,

I'd say ditch it early next year though, not now, so like Feb-ish

Some orthodontist actually use this device for patients. The reason why it is removable is because you only need to wear it minimum 12hrs a day, it's basically a slow palatal expander so results take longer than a MSE/RPE. The people of this website, which are professionals create crafted expanders including MSE and other stuff, but the sketchy part about this is that you are fully responsible of your own actions, so If you turn too much on the screw and fuck up your palate, then it is your fault.

They recommend to do it under supervision of an orthodontist, but a lot of people don't do that since their ortho feeds them cope "muh you don't need it" while they know damnwell you can benefit from it

Yes you're right, doing it professionally is better than doing it yourself obv

aight so ill wear it again till around feb 2026

This is all legal jargin, they're not gonna take responsibility if some retard screws his shit in and fucks himself up, that's not really sketchy

by a gigantic margin, I don't even know if this would be worth it but good luck nontheless

the only thing I'm scared of is when i ditch it, is that my bite might revert to the original one (I used to have a deep bite)
although i'm not sure if a hawley retainer also maintains the bite
