should i get bimax?

I talked to my aunt (dentist for over 25 years) about getting bimax or regular jaw surgery. she said there was no need for me to and that i’m beautiful (obv family biased) and that if i wanted any surgery i should get chin implants. my orthopaedic as been working on my overbite for the last 5 years and it’s still bad. what do y’all think?

It doesn’t matter anyway, your side profile isn’t the reason you’re on this forum it’s definitely your front. You look depressed and tired, kind of old likely because of the nasolabial folds so I’d probably look into that instead of bimax aka the most overrated surgery for aesthetics

Listen, your case is pretty straightforward : your maxilla is a bit recessed, your mandible is even more recessed, while your chin is fine (good forward projection). The mandibular recession causes the overbite and the visual impression of a weak chin from the side.

You certainly do not need a chin implant. It would not fix the mandibular recession.
You do not need another 5 years of ineffective treatment either.

The procedure that most likely suits your needs is a bimax. A complementary genioplasty will be necessary to adjust your chin's forward & downward projection (from the front, your chin lacks a substantial amount of vertical height).

If you want to commit to looksmaxxing and be objectively good-looking (not just to your relatives), you'll need more procedures after the bimax. In fact, you'll need to combine both softmaxxing (skin care, etc.) & hardmaxxing (surgeries).

Start off with softmaxxing :
1- fill in your eyebrows with minoxidil + microneedling ;
2- clear your skin with accutane, tretinoin, isotretinoin, etc. (take some time to do your own research on every molecule, weigh up their pros and cons) ;
3- if bimax doesn't fix your nasolabial folds entirely, treat them with PDO threads, microneedling, or whatever else may work.
4- use Visine, Lumify, etc. for a brighter and clearer sclera

As for hardmaxxing, besides a bimax :
1- pin your ears (otoplasty) ;
2- reduce the alar base of your nose, make the bridge & tip more defined, project the tip a bit further (rhinoplasty including alarplasty, tip plasty, cartilage graft) ;
3- fix the undereye region potentially in several steps (a- lower blepharoplasty with fat repositioning ; b- fat grafting if need be ; c- infraorbital implant if need be) ;
4- fix your right eye's shape (ptosis repair).
