Should I get elastics for overbite?

I have a slight overbite around 4mm, Measured by my dentist and by an orthodontist. I want to fix it as gives me a deeper mentolabial fold, wich makes me Side worse. Should I just get braces or invisalign with elastics without extractions?

same problem here, had a jewish orthodontists who wanted to extract 2 upper molars due to 8mm overbite and fix it afterwards with elastics, dont fall for it bhai, change orthodontist if needed. im only having braces right now and some bite plates for my deep bite. im getting a palate expander to fix my crossbite. thats all you need tbh

With or without elastics? IDC about getting straighter teeth, they are already naturally straight. Girls and Guys compliment my teeth, even my wisdomteeth fit perfectly. So i only want to fix my overbite.

Get braces and elastics I started wearing braces like a year ago and also just got elastics to fix my overbite and i'm already seeing progress making my jaw look better and giving me more forward growth

i am wearing braces rn and i am getting suregry in summer or a little after and i talked abt it with my ortho and he agreed that surgery is better for aesthetics
ask ur ortho he will also tell you that elastics advance the mandible but also recess the maxilla at the same time to close the gap

Yes braces should fix any sort of issue like this related to a messed bite.

Not sure about the maxilla thing, because in my case I had an underbite, and they just pulled the lower row backwards. It caused a slight jaw recession, but it was good because my jaw was jutted out before. But if yours is an overbite instead of underbite and they pull your upper teeth back idk what the actual aesthetic results would be.

As long as they dont push your maxilla crazly back its fine just ask your ortho . I asked mine and he said yeah we can also make it without realy pushing your maxilla back and still fixing my overbite

he also said that he can slightly push my teeth in a way so that it gives the look of a more ccw forward grown maxilla

I got them for my overbite and it gave me so much forward growth

Idk man, I started wearing braces about a year ago and elasatics for like a month but I don't need them anymore cuz my overbite is almost fixed and now she placed some bs on my upper teeth so my maxilla can't grow forward anymore

a Retainer ? and after 1 month of wearing them your overbite got fixed or did they do other stuff during the year , because for me they are still position my teeth and then i will get elastics

yeah I think it's a retainer but I can't take it off and I only have it on my upper teeth. No my overbite isn't completely fixed but I dont have to wear the elastics anymore and yeah you don't get elastics immediately you first need to wear the braces for like a year
