Go to the limb lengthening forum, read up on all the info they have there, then talk with your GP and other doctors and reach your own conclusion. Keep mind you will read a lot of horror stories there cause most people that do LL can't afford good surgeons so they do them in places like India and Turkey and try to gain insane heights way past the safety limits. My understanding is that if you go to Dr. Paley, the top-rated LL surgeon in the world who costs 100-200k, and don't go beyond 5 cm the risk is very small. But this is something you have to research and decide on yourself, it's your legs.
