Should I get MSE or Marpe? And should I use my elastics with my braces rn

I’ve had 0 tooth extractions, and have been considering MSE or MARPE for better zygos and better airways, also my ortho has begun to encourage elastics and I’m iffy on if they’ll recess my upper jaw

careful with orthos, they really dont give a shit they will recess you AND take your moeny, then sleep like a baby.

MSE is a type of MARPE.
Stop asking questions when you haven't even done an ounce of research yourself.

Marpe depends on your age. For youngcells palate expander but since u talk about marpe, then i assume u r older. From what i heard, is that marpe wont give u desired results, since ur zygo bines are fused to ur temporal bone and based on ur state of ossification no widening for zygos could occur through marpe.

Be careful with MSE. With 7mm of growth you risk looking a bit uncanny, even if you have a narrow palate to begin with. This guy apparently had 31mm and expanded to 38mm, imo he looks kind of scary with how wide his mouth is even if 38mm is not that wide. I guess it's somehow disproportionate to the rest of the face. Also expensive as hell, especially with braces and stuff that follow the intial MARPE treatment.

If you have medical reasons to do it like the airway thing then you might be able to get it through insurance or public healthcare, but if it's purely aesthetic you'll have to do it with an enterprising orthodontist who might be liable to overpromise and fuck up your mug with too much expansion. Not saying you can't make it work but I'm wary of this recent MARPE hype.

U would need to get a scan to see ur state of ossification but probably ur more a candidate for marpe, which from the little ive heard wont really increase ur bizygomatic distance

I’m 14, atp should I just bimax when I’m older and stop caring, I’m not even heavily recessed, my only badly recessed area is infras I alr plan to get infra implants or something when I’m older and maybe jaw implants

your ortho won't give you marpe, if it doesn't constrict your airways or anything. You can larp it, but i'd recommend a palate expander that ISN'T marpe, maybe MSE or a rapid palate expander. If you do get this though, be very careful to not do too much; because you can get very uncanny very quickly.

I reckon none. I would advise u to ask a professional if expansion really promotes bizygomatic width. If not then fillers or implants in the zygos would be next thing
