I graduate high school in two month and I have the option to study medicine my dad is a doctor so is my uncle and cousins so my parents are really pushing me towards. Is it worth the effort? I’d spend 7 years in med school sit then have to sit equivalency exams so I can move to the US and then do residency for 4-5 years that if you even match into residency first time and don’t have to take a year out and reapply and then finally after completing it you’ll start cashing in money that’s after maybe 12-13 years of just studying and working is it worth it? You’d live an upper class lifestyle easily but you’ll be in your 30s and out of your prime

Maybe in your country but not everywhere, and if you have a practice you make more. My uncle lives/works in Switzerland (he's German), owns a practice and has a net pay of around 280k Swiss francs (like 300k Euros). That's not as much as a plastic surgeon, but it's not a low salary and more than say a psychiatrist. I wanna leave Germany too after I finish my studies, although I am not studying any sort of medicine.

I said veterinary medicine because 65% of students are females. You can easily meet a girl.

You retard. There is a reason why vets have one of the highest job suicide rates (source new York time) cause they accumulated sm student debt and study for years just so that in the end they have to work long shifts with unregular work time just do they have a medium class income while if they went in another sector they could have gotten 400k+. Without reliefs you are dead as a vet

True, but don't study in the US if you can. Study in Germany or Netherlands where you pay like 1000 Euros per year. Or even in UK you pay much less if you don't go to the best unis.

coming from a med student entering their second year, imo its worth it even with the long duration of study
personally i find my course really interesting - when i was deciding what to do it was between finance, engineering and med, parents convinced me to do med which im grateful for now cos I know I wouldve been bored asf doing finance.
Most my friends do finance and they litr have to apply for internships every years in order to land a job post-grad if that since the market is so saturated.
Engineering I might have done but my parents have connections within med so it would make finding a job more easier cos theyve been through it before.
There won't ever be a shortage of Doctors so choosing med is basically guaranteed career anywhere in the world - even with the rise of AI shi is just gonna get easier for us Doctors. What else would you plan to do?
Hope this helps

I Was thinking of becoming a pilot you can earn 6 figures early on and you can end up working in private jets and make lots of money

Honeslty, you shouldn't do it i you dont have any passion for it. If the long time taken to earn money is a dealbreaker for you check out dentistry and see if your interested in that. Whatever you do, you will have a lot of free time as a student if you are productive which you can allocate towards looksmaxing and moneymaxing through your own business over the course of 3-5 years. Never stick to one source of income.
