Should I go to a therapist?

I’m an absolute mentalcel and my parents are aware. They’ve been asking me to go to therapy for like the past 2 years but I’ve been telling them I don’t need to and that I’ll get better as time goes on. However I haven’t gotten better and in fact I’ve gotten much worse.

Starting to consider it but I’m gonna feel like such a loser man. Plus I’m not gonan be able to be fully open with the therapist cuz they might genuinely think there’s something wrong with me, so I’d have to make up some lies and shit but I wouldn’t be fully lying.

I’m pretty sure I do cuz I hyperfixate on features that don’t really even matter or that I don’t even lack in. There was a point in July where I would literally stand in front of the mirror for like an hour straight just looking at myself trying to prove to myself that the feature I was hyperfixated on wasn’t actually bad. I’m mmtn so I’m not really ugly but not attractive either.

you have to ask yourself if you trust the therapist more than you want solutions. if something is too worrying, they might share it with your parents also
