I had 4 wisdom teeth extracted in November 2023
I now see that my jaw angle is less square and my face tends to be slimmer (the jawline is still the same) but looking straight, my jaw looks more V-line, before it was still V-line but the 2 jaw angles were wider
all pairs of photos below (left is always before wisdom tooth extraction including side profile and xray, front) my xrays are quite old, the most recent photo is from 2024 so currently not available
I went for a re-examination at a few major hospitals, the maxillofacial doctors I have seen all confirmed that my bone structure is still the same thanks to the remodeling process because my teeth grow in an extra position and not on the main dental arch so there is no bone loss, the bone will completely compensate later, they said the change is due to my bite muscles, if you want it to be like before, chew more and bite harder but I confirm that I currently weigh 64kg and my diet is still the same
However, there is a private dental clinic outside that told me that if I want to explore, they will take a CT scan of the whole jaw and measure specifically to evaluate, and maybe graft artificial bone on the outside of my 8th tooth area.
Should I listen to the maxillofacial doctors at the leading hospitals or the private dental clinic outside? Will outside dentistry do all the procedures that shouldn't be done just for money?
I used to weigh around 54-57kg
I'm 64kg now , in theory, my face should be bigger, right? Or is it because I exercise a lot?
