You're forgetting the most useful aspect of going to a school in your developmental years, socializing. If you raise a child alone in your room, you'll have a social outcast who happens to know some cool skills, you can teach him this stuff after school, or get some special note to pull him out an hour before the others etc. but taking him out of a social circle is a terrible idea
