Should I consider HGH and anastrozole at 15½?
I’m 15½ years old and currently about 5’6”. At a wellness visit last month, I talked to my doctor about whether I should get my growth checked and whether HGH might be appropriate. He told me that my growth is normal, that he doesn’t see a medical reason to prescribe HGH or order an IGF-1 blood test, and that I should continue getting good sleep, eating well, and exercising.
He also told me that I appear to be on a growth trajectory where I may continue growing past 16½, which made me wonder how much more height I could potentially gain. My mom is 5’4” and my dad is 5’9”.
At the wellness visit I was around 5’5”, and about a month later I measured around 5’6”. I’ve been getting 9+ hours of sleep every night. During the first two weeks of that month, I was taking tesamorelin, but I stopped after I ran out.
When I went back to the doctor about a month later for chest acne, I mentioned my growth and he asked whether I was taking anything.
