my old ortho said i need hyrax and braces w elastics for my deep bite and my new ortho said i should search for better treatments, should i hop on hyrax and elastics braces while im 17 or search for better orthos in my area

No teeth extracted, no braces before. Literally no orthodontic procedure has ever been done in my mouth. Im Just wondering if its too late to fix my malocclusion and i need surgery...
