Should I join the freemasons - they already were willing to interview me

Title pretty much. I contacted the freemasons and had an interview setup with them and everything, they're interested in having me on. Is it any good?

There is a big lodge who wanted me. Normally you need to be 21 to join, but they had links to my university and thus I was given an interview and shit and an offer to join when I was 19. But it cost quite a bit, so I told them I probably wouldn't be able to afford it given I am a student - even with discounts and shit.

Hence I was encouraged to join one when I graduate and get a job, there is a lodge in my hometown too who I plan on contacting soon. I like the idea of the freemasons and when speaking to them, my interviewers said I had the right idea. But it's a lot of old people, not many young guys.

I live in the UK.

Basically during meetings you have dinner and chat with other masons. However as a level 1 mason (since I'd be new), I'd have an older/more senior mason "mentoring" me, basically helping me get involved and fit in. During meetings level 1 masons are kicked out for some parts because they haven't earned the right to hear certain stuff, so your mentor usually hangs out with you outside.

They have like lectures too, but only certain levels can hear them.

All quite secretive, but in general a lot of masons are involved in charity work and self improvement

Yeah basically, it sucks tbh. I rarely meet young people anywhere, even at my BJJ class I'm the youngest guy there by about 10 years. Most of my social interaction with people outside of school/uni has been with older people in their 30-50s.

Masons are looking for young people though and tbh it's about self improvement so I guess learning from older guys won't be bad

not worht it sure u meet friends in the brotherhood and shit but things get real interested with the big shots and big boys up in Hollywood now that would be a fucking wild ass ride haha now that's where all the juice and drama is but yeah idk
