Should i just get braces now? (orthocels gtfih pls)

for context, i have a class ii deep bite where my upper teeth are almost entirely covering bottom when biting down. i have the option to get damon braces with class ii elastics whenever i would like. the problem is i want herbst appliance, so my mom and i have been looking for places even up to like 2 hours away that openly does herbst appliance but pretty much no one does. we went in for consultations they all said to get elastics (went to 3). There was only one that said they openly do it but only on patients whos lower jaw is recessed enough, my mom went back and forth with them for like 4 weeks, they said they were going to get the scans from my past consultation from a dif ortho cuz they are 2 hours away but they havent yet and they said theyd do that on wednesday. i just turned 15 and im getting older by the min. should i just save time and get the damon braces with elastics?

You should opt to get herbst yeah , elastics aren’t good , 15 is a good age for herbst . Ideally you could pair the herbst with hgh for some amp because you re 15 , the efficiency of the herbst goes down with age . Opt for the herbst

Then dont get herbst it will most likely only cause dental tipping if you have already past growth spurth id recommend consulting your ortho about surgical alternatives such as bsso would be much more effective

Yeah surgery im the future would be best and for herbst specifically the optimal window would be within grwoth spurth so ages 9-14 as an early bloomer you might have hit spurth at 12 that would mean your 3 years past at that point herbst wont give that much skeletal growth but mainly dental tipping but take that matter with the ortho

nah i think i hit it at like 13 to 14 i just turned 15 a couple days ago i may even still be in it, i grew from like 5'8 to 6'1 in a year

Get bone age scan , herbst is still better

Get Herbst and if you can’t get braces and then ask if they can do forsus. Imo 16-17 is the best age to do orthodontics because your maxilla stops growing while your mandible is still growing, so only your mandible gets pushed forward while your maxilla isn’t retruded

ik herbst will actually grow my lower jaw forward and elastics just move your teeth, but its just taking so long to find someone to do herbst

If you want long lasting good results you go for herbst doesn’t matter the price or the time , herbst grows your jaw and improves your quality of life , and it’s not that high maintenance, 4 hour drive ain’t that bad
