Should I learn Japanese or Russian?

If anyone cares, I am tending toward Japanese although the fact that this would be a commitment that will last for more than just a while is making me a bit unsure. I will take some time out of my day tomorrow to look deeper into both languages and cultures and simply make my decision based on which one sparks my interest more.

Yeah I'd say learning Japanese is more beneficial seeing how much Japan publishes manga's,anime,video games and movies, Russian isn't that interesting anymore.

I still think Russian is interesting and I will learn it, but I think I'm gonna go with Japanese first. I think I've made my decision.

Like I said, I'll have learned both at some point in the future. My cousin is currently learning russian, so if I start with Japanese now, which I've done, then I can ask him questions once I start with Russian cause he'll be really good at it by that point.

i didn’t read comments before this but russian 100% you will be able to understand most languages in EE and talk with them once you have learned it to a good standard

i started with japanese already actually, should've told you. i'll start with russian as soon as i'm done with the other languages so i'll be learning japanese and russian simultaneously. What languages do you speak? What are you studying?

Portuguese, English, German now, next i'll do spanish cause it's like 80% similar to portuguese, i can understand 95% what they speak, the only difference is grammar i guess...
then i'll do french or even russian, i tried studying french before but it's really hard.

yea french has a lot of fucked up sentence structures and words they use in unconventional ways compared to other european languages. there's a lot of similar vocabulary in french and portuguese or english though.
