Should i perm my pinstraight asain hair?

I struggle alot with my hair just being too straight so i thought ab getting a perm.
Sea salt spray and hairwax doesnt really give me “wave” more just like texture ish

Yea but its so much effort to do, like it takes at least 15 minutes a day and doesnt hold AT ALL if it rains even a little bit. So ie, if i go swimming its just over

they dont last that long though but yea i dont want the tight noodle curls, im going more for like a loose perm like "surfer" hair, but i also need to grow out my hair for that, and that takes alot of time where i have to be botched
