I am 16 just got my first job as a host at a restaurant right across the street, not super big but can get busy at nights. Today was my first day in training, was really light but I wasn’t doing any of the transactions or picking up calls mostly just bussing/cleaning tables and greeting people. But I am making approx $8-11 an hour which obviously isn’t great, and there are so many fucking hosts at my job that I’m gonna be getting maybe 8 work hours a week. I feel like I should do something that makes more $, but there’s also the potential I can level up into being a server and in that position they average about $20 an hour. I’m not the type of dude to quit really anything especially this early, but idk if it was a good move to work here. Opinions?

TLDR: Job isn’t horrible but barely gonna get any hours and mid pay, should i dip?

Yeah it fucking sucks, I mean the living expenses obviously aren’t as expensive here but my friend is in az for a lot of the summer and the minimum wage there is $22 or some shit, nobody will hire him since he’s leaving in a month tho. It’s not like I desperately need money but if I’m working double to triple the hours and making like 1.8x the money doing easier work it seems like a no brainer
