Should I cut off my friend? I was bullied for four months during my freshman year by the girl he is currently dating. She and I didn't even know each other; she just targeted my looks. Every time I passed her, she would loudly call me ugly and make sure everyone knew it. 'Ugly' was just one of the many words she constantly used to mock my appearance. One time, she literally shouted 'Eew!' right as I walked past. Anywhere she saw me at school, she would just laugh at me.I never did anything to warrant this reaction. Before this happened, I never really thought about my appearance. I considered myself an average-looking teen, and girls would even approach me sometimes. When she started targeting my looks, it made me deeply insecure. I tried to avoid her in the hallways, but she wouldn't let up.She also had this habit of trying to 'hook up' her friend with random boys, and one day I became the victim of that joke. Her friend looked completely mortified and disgusted when she tried to pair us up. I have never seen someone look so disgusted before—as if I were an animal undeserving of basic empathy. I constantly dealt with this until the end of the year.My friend, whom I considered a brother, transferred to our school when I was a sophomore and he was a junior. Even though we were in different grades and didn't share classes, he was the only person I truly connected with at school. It was actually because of him that the girl stopped bullying me. I was incredibly grateful to meet someone so cool and genuine, and I viewed him as an older brother since he is a year older than me.Fast forward to now: I am a junior turning 17, and he is a senior turning 18. He is currently dating the girl who bullied me, who is also a junior turning 17. He doesn't know our history because I never felt secure enough to tell him. All I cared about back then was that once he started hanging out with me, the bullying stopped. They started dating during our third year, which is where we are now. Every time I see them together, it pisses me off. How can she just pretend she didn't bully me so badly and now treat me normally? My friend really likes her, so I am at a crossroads. Should I stop being friends with him so I don't have to see them together, or should I tell him the truth and see if they break up? Personally, I don't think he would break up with her because he genuinely loves her. However, it pains me to see someone who treated me so badly be happy with a good guy. What are some second opinions on what I should do?"
