thyroid is more than just t3 and t4, if you start supplementing lev you will nuke your natural production and overall thyroid activity

sure but to sustain any changes you would have to take it for life. as soon as you stop, your thyroid hormones and metabolism will return back to baseline.

also, the half-life of t4 is 7 days so you would need a large dose (>150mcg) to see any noticeable changes
