Probably still shit compared to boxingIt depends on the school and instructor.
Kyokushin is no BS. It is the most realistic and effective form of Karate.
Karate is cope
Kyokushin doesn’t let you hit the head, so you could train bothProbably still shit compared to boxing

Boxing. Only combat sport that will teach you to throw hands for real.
Muay Thai is better
Boxing is the way to go.I love Boxing.
Always been a Boxing type of guy.
I have insane reach.
My daily MMA regiment involves watching Boxing on TV and practicing the sequences on the punching bag.
But I also realized the importance of kicks through street fights and school fights.
I won a school fight through kicks with a kid that punched me. I think I was 16 at that time.
In the street if you've got a guy with 6 months boxing training vs a guy with 6 months karate or whatever other bs training - boxer KOes the other dude in 20 seconds
Boxing is the way to go.
You do know that Dutch Kickboxing is derived from Kyokushin right?
Kickboxers will always win pure Boxers.
MMA requires Kickboxing or Muay Thai as the striking base.
My base for MMA is Boxing > Kickboxing > Muay Thai > Wrestling in that order.
I'm a Boxer type of guy like Conor McGregor or Nate Diaz.
A kickboxer/Muay Thai guy will maul a Boxer everytime.

If it's a hobby you're always better off with a boxing base. You can train mma or other shit when the hands have the muscle memory of actual snappy punches from boxing. No adaptation is the way to go.
Very few Boxer dominant base fighters in UFC.

It's a hobby for most.MMA/Boxing isn't a "hobby" lmao. I grew up getting picked on and got into fights early. It's reality for me.
It's my passion.
I cage at people who come to my MMA gym(Evolve MMA) for "fun" and "exercise" and "destress" and all that bullshit.
On my very first session as a beginner I ignored the instructor and just started throwing combos and freestyling at the heavy bag because their instruction was too easy and pointless for me.They complained to my mom.![]()
