Sure i have some pimples and blackheads and other shit but i wouldn't call it acne :feelsbaton:

How? I searched it up and you can definitely use tret if you have no acne since its snti aging too.
And i didn't seem to find any risks if using as a minor except the usual side effects almost everyone has

Oh ye, just go to a dermatologist like @Arthur the Egyptian said. Ill be planning a visit soon to get rid of pimples on my chin.

FDA-approved for 12+. Totally false. You're encouraged by derms to start a retinoid treatment as early as you wish.

To, OP, it has more benefits than merely reducing acne. Retinoids are single-handedly the most researched umbrella of skincare ingredients you could ever use, it is incredibly well-rounded and will help with quite literally every issue. If you want, start on retinol, then retinal, then tretinoin (retinoic acid), essentially progressing through the conversion process it would already undergo at a cellular level in the epidermis.

What would be the benefits of using retinol then retinal and then tret?
Im too broke to buy allat cant i just use tret?

You can essentially use it to progress through the potency/irritability of the retinoid. Retinol turns into retinal then into retinoic acid when in the epidermis. If you apply too much retinol or retinal, it can be essentially stored by the skin until it needs it and then convert it. However, with retinoic acid (tretinoin), your skin cannot back convert and you can get irritated quite easily if you apply too much.

What I meant was doing that in stages, not at the same time. For example, you can use a serum with a low % of retinol with bakuchiol in it (kinda a natural retinoid, less irritating and less effective) for a few months, then a higher % of retinol and take out the bakuchiol, then retinal, then tretinoin. This would take months on each product essentially. You can just get tretinoin straight away if you want, but keep in mind, with any retinoid treatment, you'll get flakey skin and you'll purge as retinoids increase cell turnover, essentially bringing your acne from the bottom layer of the skin to the top. Peak irritation is a couple weeks into treatment. You should start off by applying it once every other day for a week or two at least, then you can apply it daily.

Make sure to apply it at nighttime as it increases your sensitivity to sun damage.

I think ill just do straight up tretinoin since I'm too lazy and broke to buy all that. How much would the flaky skin and purge last though?

A couple weeks perhaps, just moisturise your face and it won't be noticeable.
