Should I wait for PS5 slim?

I’ve had a PS4 slim for 2 years now and I’m kinda ready to upgrade. 30 FPS full HD is kinda low for me and many games play like shit in split screen because they need more hardware power.

I would buy the normal PS5 but it’s just too freaking big. Looks like a skyscraper.

There are leaks about a new version of PS5 coming out this fall. Should I wait and buy it or should I buy the usual PS5? There is a risk that the new slim won’t support discs so that’s something that would stop me from buying it.

Just wait for the ps5 slim. There’s not a lot of exclusives anyways

You can wait as much as you want in any scenario, maybe even skip the generation entirely because there's not that many games anyway.
When Switch OLED released it got scalped immediately, so maybe remain cognizant of that, although things never got bad as they were in the COVID days with GPUs/PS5s.

Bro yes there aren’t many games but assassin’s is coming out and I will spend like 300 hours on that game and the games that I already have will run at 60 fps 4K.

I’m a fan of split screen games that I play with friends and relatives, and many of them run like dogshit on PS4 because it’s not powerful enough. They drop as low as 20 fps.

Rumors say that the Slim will be a simple chassis refresh and that the disc drive will be an external module, which seems cumbersome.
Personally I didn't get a PS5 because I already have basically every other console starting with X360 and a passable PC.

After thinking about it, I will wait either way. Either the slim is gonna come out and I will be satisfied, or it comes out and is dogshit or it comes out in 12 months and I buy the regular PS5 this fall

For a 50 bucks a year subscription you get a 400 games collection (older and newer) and 3 new games every month.

And you can also play online and with friends unlike the pirated.

They will probably add a couple of new cool features and it will look nicer. I would 100% buy if it came with a disc drive (I have a lot of discs, and some games have been taken down from the store, and can only be played on discs).
