Good cinematography. As with most dramas, the first season is the best. After season 1, the writing deteriorates, plots you were interested in are dropped without resolution, there is retconning and idiot plots.

This 3 minute clip from season 5 pretty much sums up the last 4 seasons.

That end scene at the bar is such a legit classic.
