should I watch Naruto?

I have never watched a single episode of Naruto, even tho I have been watching all kinds of anime shows since highschool. The amount of the episodes scares me. I remember I watched monster until episode 40 or so and then dropped it because it was too soy for me (morally impeccable badass tryina save the world from ultimate evil kind of ordeal) and not finishing felt like a massive timewaste because you can't draw conclusions from the series.
