Should I wear my elastics to fix my overbite or would they just ruin my maxilla? 19y old

Need to pull my mandible forward, don't really think that elastics are the way for it as they mostly de negatively but could be wrong

how are elastics gonna pull your jaw forward? you need new bone

sugery is pretty much the only way postpuberty although idk about weird appliaces like the DNA device

Woudnt elastics pull the mandible backwards if anything?
Never used it nor know anyone close to me that did so idk about it

They "pull" it forward but they can and most likely pull the maxilla back in exchange

Thought so aswell, just trying to find other ways to fix my overbite and pull my mandible forward even if just a bit. If I can avoid surgery I'll do it of course but If not lower jaw surgery it is
