Lindsay Clancy’s trial just ended in a mistrial because one holdout juror wouldn’t budge. Defense claimed the person was biased and ignored the judge’s instructions on reasonable doubt. So in light of this my question is if jury should be a thing? The main reason why courts kept a jury is to keep the judges and prosecution in check from handing out sentences and judgements all in governments or state's favour that is originally why jury systems started but the problem is jury is made up of ordinary people like you and me and idk about you but I know nothing about the law and I am biased and so are most people
If I had my way I would say to shoot her at sight for killing those innocent children regardless of how fucked she is in her head but now a feminist might have different opinions because she might be consuming leftist or mental health crap might and wants a acquittal. So it turns into a Roman Colosseum thumbs up or thumbs down situation
So when there is reasonable doubt to avoid this the judge isolate the jurors basically a sentence to isolate them from all media. They are given a hotel, aren't allow to speak to people use their phone etc. when there’s actual doubt involved.
