Title. In world with such brutal poverty and income inequality do you think people that are extremely wealthy should exist. Like there are people with more wealth than anything they could possibly spend for generations yet they keep getting richer is that fair?

I'm a bit conflicted on it because they actually contribute a lot to society as an individual through projects and shit but having that much money is also unnecessary

depends on how they got their wealth and the industry

plenty of arguments from both sides

I think to say "rich people shouldn't exist" is just a broad statement without much backing so id say yes

btw I saw you said you were mentoring davidlaid hows that going, he has deleted his account since

u couldnt say its fair but nothing would happen considering once u get rich its not that hard to stay rich w good investments and mindful spendings as the cost of living wouldnt be increasing at the rate the rich is earning while the middle class rots trying to keep up w the inflation and taxes

they dont generally contribute as much as theyre celebrated for as they find a loophole to grab cash from the projects aswell
like the system as it is now allows them to gain vastly much more wealth than they actually contributed
for example u can see this type of stuff in governments of developing countries the government takes up a project w a contractor and the work is js half assed to seal the deal but the money is somehow gone

yeah. People should be allowed to accumulate wealth. However mega corporations should face strict regulations like they have in China.

If the government had that money it would be put to better use than a few vanity projects here and there

they should be taxated at obscene rates and their wealth should be redivided or whatever mega corp they control that generates their wealth should be forcefully handed to the state

the poor are poor for a reason and the rich are rich for a reason. The rich, mostly because of superior intelligence (apart from celebrities) and the poor because of inferior intelligence its natural

Should be a poll

But Ofc not

Itโ€™s the job of the rich to steward the poor

However for there to be winners there must be losers. The rich are these winners the poor are the losers and thatโ€™s how it is

There should be inequality as thatโ€™s how human societies work.

However not to the absurd levels we see today

Pov: youve been working your ass off for years, taking huge risks and missing out on important things, eventually your plan works out out of the 95% fail rate and some broke mf bragging about you should lose the shit youve been hardly working for

Despite the state taking away close to half all of your assets with taxes

tax should be zero and Christian countries should make their own version of the Islamic banking system. Usury is a jewish creation that should be banned in Christian and Muslim nations

The line should be crossed at billionaires. These people have way too much power over us. They are actually part of the government, with the control their companies and brands have..:feelshah:

there should be limits to how rich people can get imo. When someone gets more than billion dollars a single person gets too much power. someone with that much money can literally rig the elections, shift global markets. Evrything is a pawn for him to his bidding which is too dangerous to be handed to a single person .

Net worth doesnt equal liquid cash, they have these assets and they cant withdraw everything at once

Also should sell their companies in order to get the cash, as thats where the most cash is stored

Richest people in liquid cash is bill gates with 60b rn

T2 is 7.7b and it keeps on dropping drastically

I never mentioned liquid cash. Real power comes from ownership and equity. Elon Musk didn't need liquid cash a single tweet from him saying Tesla stock was 'too high' wiped out over $14 billion in market value in a single day. Ultra wealthy individuals use their illiquid holdings as collateral for massive loans to fund Super PACs.

You can directly influence media, and dictate policy when you are uber rich

The money is in their companies and more, they dont have it sitting on their bank. Also when they would not be able to earn mire they would not contrinue and many people will loose their job

Looked it up, youre right

Its a hard question because there is not a real way to prevent this from happening

Unless the state would forcefully drag the assets into smaller increments

But again heavily dependant on what exactly has been taken or what the owner still has control over

i think its far too controlling for anyone to control whether somebody makes money or not as long as it's within the confinements of the law

that being said, you should be taxed accordingly to your income. these billionaires should be paying mounds of taxes to the public each year

Limit total wealth- person stops working and innovating. Their employees also lose as a result

end stepped up basis tax rule- hurts the middle class person who inherits a home and is forced to sell it since they canโ€™t afford the tax liability

Thereโ€™s no magic answer, same as all religious debates sadly
